We were thrilled to be a part of this photoshoot back in January!  With it’s ‘All for One’ theme it revolved around three grooms dueling over one lucky bride!  However our speaking part didn’t make the cut as we couldn’t be heard (room was too loud) which I’m quite happy about because I don’t particularly like to hear myself speak!

Anyways I hope you enjoy watching this gorgeous video of our styled shoot, please source the other vendors underneath and be sure to check out the actual wedluxe style file here.

Happy Valentines Day everyone!!

I’m sure there will be many couples getting engaged today as it is the perfect holiday in which to do so! Today I’m sharing with you one of my favourite engagement videos where the groom surprises his bride-to-be with a flash mob.  You can’t help but cry it’s so amazing!

The question is, how would you feel if your significant other did this to you?  Personally I think I would be in utter shock and may want to disappear lol!  Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Biography:

After having my daughter and my son, I dreaded going back to work to my corporate job as a Quality Assurance Specialist-I felt stifled, with no outlet for my creativity to shine. Suddenly sitting behind a computer for 8 hours a day was not so exciting. That same year I faced some life altering circumstances-I lost a few people who were very close to me. I had my “a-ha” moment, when realized I could help others, and let my creativity shine through. Life is sweet, and we have many moments in it that we need to celebrate-the best we can, and surrounded by those we truly cherish most. I`ve always sort of envied my husband, since he has a job he totally loves (he’s a Chef), so I always wished that there was a job that fit me and my personality and creativeness. For years I have been planning large scale parties (I come from a very large family-so there is always something going on). I`ve also been told that I have a good flare for decorating-mostly interior. I decided to combine these skills with my absolute love of weddings. That is when Carol Rame Weddings was born, over 3 years ago. Since then, I haven’t stopped helping brides and making their weddings the best they can be.
My Why:

It wasn’t that long ago that I myself was a bride-I remember feeling run-down, and not at all ready for the stress that accompanied the planning, and trying to please everyone, budgeting and staying up all hours of the night! I did end up having an awesome day, but the work leading up to it was exhausting me! This is why my main focus is on Weddings, and helping brides as much as possible. You only get one day, one chance to get it right, not think back on the “woulda, shoulda, couldas”.
My Advice for Couples

Tons-LOL! But I will keep it to a minimum ;) Make sure you find a Planner who “gets” your vision and who you absolutely feel comfortable with. You are trusting the Planner you have hired with your most important day. Go with your gut. Ask for testimonials, and to see their portfolio etc. Don’t just go on budget alone- the wedding business is the same as any other business-you get what you pay for. I would also advise a newly engaged couple to enjoy in this process-it can be fun, and doesn’t have to be stressful and it goes by so quickly! Lastly, never forget the reasons you decided to get married in the first place. Too many couples can get caught up in the “planning” of the wedding and forget that they are actually entering into a marriage.

Lori Grover

Name:Sticks and Stems
Specializes in: Creating beautiful flowers for weddings
Location: Waterdown
Website:http://www.sticksandstems.ca
Years in Business:2

Biography:
After working in floral design for 12 years i decided to open Sticks and
Stems while on maternity leave in 2009. I love having the creative freedom and flexibility to have fun with my brides. Getting to know each client and understanding her overall vision for the day helps me to create beautiful flowers that will enhance the tone of the wedding. I have fun with flowers!

My Why:

Weddings have always been my favorite part of floral design. I love that
the trends and styles are always changing. One weekend I may be creating flowers for a soft and romantic vintage wedding, and the next brightly cloured florals for a fun and funky event. I enjoy playing with different styles and mixing things up.

My Advice for Couples:

My advice would be to do some research and compile a list of potential
florists to meet with. Check out websites, blogs, facebook pages, etc. Try to get a feel for that particular florists style and whether or not you
think they would be a good fit for the look you want to achieve. You may not find your exact bouquet, but if you like the overall style and work of that designer, chances are they’ll be able to create something uniquely beautiful for you.  Have fun with your planning!

If you own a blog or host your own website and are engaged you have to check out these adorable wedding countdown tickers that you can add to your site!  They’re from When is My Wedding and I thought they were so cute I had to share!
